In this position you will be responsible for managing the Client Support team that is located in the USA. You will be responsible for coaching, guiding and managing the team of Client Specialists, monitoring and generating reports, setting up and monitoring the departmental OKR’s and dealing with escalations. Furthermore, you are also an operational part of the team and handle RFP’s for hotel reservations, events, workshops, meetings, training courses, congresses and hotel bookings. And of course, you will be in contact with clients to advise the best locations and opportunities in the market and with venues to negotiate the best commission, prices and terms & condition. Finally, you will ensure the correct supply of administrative data of current applications for the Administration.

You will be part of a fun and hardworking team that is located all over the world. There are colleagues in the Netherlands, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, India, Trinidad & Tobago, Vietnam and you will be the fourth colleague in the USA!

 

What will you do? 

  • Coaching, guiding and managing the Client Specialists
  • Managing a list of customer requests
  • Accurately monitoring and processing questions and requests from customers
  • Conduct pre- and post-sales conversations with customers, you have a strong advisory role (by telephone and externally)
  • Co-responsible for incoming and outgoing telephone traffic
  • Negotiating rates, commission and terms & conditions with venues
  • Sparring partner for your customers
  • Making the schedules for the team
  • Creating training schedules for new employees in the team
  • Switching and mediating between different stakeholders (customer-location-Meetingselect)
  • Setting up and monitoring OKR’s
  • Maintaining and optimizing your knowledge of the market by means of site visits and social activities
  • Visiting national and international trade fairs and participation in family trips
  • Executing requests from sales support or sales team

What do you bring?

  • Degree in a related field
  • 5-6 years of experience as an Event Manager
  • 4+ years of experience with managing a team
  • Great communication skills, pro-active, problem solving abilities, adaptability, team player, Result oriented,
  • Negotiator, stress resistant, customer-oriented, strategic and critical thinker, ambitious and motivator
  • Excellent understanding of the English language (both spoken and written) 
  • Affinity with MS Office
